Investigations on Mediterranean biomass pyrolysis ability by thermogravimetric analyses: thermal behaviour and sensitivity of kinetic parameters

چکیده

A comparison of the thermal behaviours different Mediterranean biomasses, based on evaluation their pyrolysis characteristic temperatures, reactivity and kinetic parameters is presented. Parameters such as activation energy pre-exponential factor reactions are determined by methods (Kissinger, Kissinger–Akahira–Sunose [KAS], Coats–Redfern, nonlinear least-squares minimization [NLSM] model distributed [DAEM]). Furthermore, a sensitivity analysis conducted. The this work with literature, showed that using thermogravimetric (TGA) often neglected not used in biomass at laboratory scale. seem to be highly sensitive methods. For given biomass, Aleppo pine husk residue, for example, can vary from 65.80 197.08 kJ·mol -1 depending method. highest average (190 ) was estimated KAS DAEM Kissinger method yields an close cellulose calculated NLSM all remains between 150 200 except Coats–Redfern method, where value range 50–100 . Therefore, it important have means recommending most appropriate determination parameters.

Kinetic Parameters from Thermogravimetric Data

The "differential" method of Achar, Brindley and Sharp (ABS) and the "integral" one of Coats and Redfern (CR) are applied to the dehydration of BaBr2-H20 and HCOOLiH20 and to the thermal decomposition of Pb(SCN)2, and the kinetic parameters so obtained are compared with those deduced isothermally. The results of the ABS method, at the lowest heating rate (q = 1.2 K min— '), agree well with the ...

Kinetic models for biomass pyrolysis

Biomass is a versatile material. It can be directly combusted to produce heat; however, by first subjecting it to a thermal or biological degradation, it can also be converted to products with a higher heating value or to materials with properties superior to those of the raw material [1]. When heated in the absence of oxygen, biomass decomposes into a range of products; including char (solid),...

Logarithmic Differential Evolution (LDE) for Optimization of Kinetic Parameters in Pyrolysis of Biomass

Pyrolysis is the thermal decomposition of organic matter under inert atmospheric conditions, leading to the release of volatiles and formation of char. It is also a first step in the biomass gasification. Understanding of kinetic parameters is essential for the design of a suitable pyrolysis reactor. In the proposed kinetic model of this study, the kinetic scheme of biomass decomposition by two...

Optimization of Kinetic Parameters in Pyrolysis of Biomass Using Differential Evolution (DE)

Pyrolysis, a first step in the biomass gasification, is the thermal decomposition of organic matter under inert atmospheric conditions, leading to the release of volatiles and formation of char. In the proposed kinetic model of this study, the kinetic scheme of biomass decomposition by two competing reactions giving gaseous volatiles and solid charcoal is used. Four different models are propose...
